Join us here at Astley for an extraordinary evening of delicious food and wine with one of Worcestershire’s most celebrated artisan producers, Macneils Smokehouse.
Join our winemaker, Chris Haywood, in the intimate setting of one of England’s oldest vineyards for a guided exploration of perfectly matched flavors. Sample award-winning wines from Astley’s historic 5-acre estate expertly paired with Macneils Smokehouse multi TASTE award-winning smoked delicacies.
Using traditional Norwegian techniques in their vintage smokehouse, Macneils hand-craft small batches of exceptional smoked salmon and meats, including their signature Herefordshire Cider & Apple Cured Salmon. Each delicate, beech-wood creation will be thoughtfully matched with Astley wines that complement and elevate both elements.
Your tasting includes: a welcome drink, a generous tasting of four wines, and various canapes using Macneils Smokehouse produce.
- Herefordshire Cider and Apple Cured Salmon finely sliced and served with home pickled cucumber & lemon and rye bread
- Homemade beechwood smoked salmon mousse on blinis with a dill dressing
- Homemade smoked mackerel pate with toasts made with Peter Cook’s Malthouse Granary loaf
- Thinly sliced smoked duck with a fig preserve on Peter Cook’s toasted Sourdough bread
- Mini smoked bacon & brie quiche bites with cranberries
- And to finish – Croome Cuisine’s Whittington Gold smoked cheddar with award winning Peter’s Yard Rye & Charcoal sourdough crackers
