Days and memories like these are ones that are etched onto your brain forever. The laughter, the smiles, the blue skies and the satisfaction of a good day’s work – 2025 has been a memorable vintage in many ways.
The exceptional warmth of this year has lead us to break multiple records both at our vineyard, and nationally:
Not only was this the earliest harvest in our 54 year history, but we believe that we also set the record for the earliest harvest in *UK* history! (August 19th).
Our Madeleine, Bacchus, and our upcoming Sauvignon Blanc are also the ripest they have ever been in our history. Not only this, but their health has been practically impeccable. Hopefully this means that we are set to make some rather special wines out of this vintage. Tim has truly outdone himself this year.
We’re repeating ourselves again when we say that we are blessed with having the nicest and most loyal community of volunteers and customers we could ask for. From the last minute call to arms, to getting stuck into the winemaking, and going far beyond the call of duty, we have had some excellent times with some lovely people this year.
And in the winery, the early harvests, the unprecedented sugars, and our plan for orange wines, reds, rosés and piquettes means Chris has been having a lot of fun (and working hard).
We have two harvest days planned for this week, and then we’ll just have one more pick of Kerner remaining. Unbelievably, we may be finished by the start of October!
A lot going on, and a lot still to do. Thanks for your support. See you soon.
