Our business does not stand still and for sometime we have been exploring the idea of adding holiday accommodation to our visitor offer and improve the financial sustainability for the future. So, over the past 18 months we have been working to install two shepherds huts in the vineyard
It’s not been easy. We first needed planning permission. Then we needed to explore the various options to bring power, electricity and drainage to the proposed site and install the best solutions.
But at last, the two huts have been built and delivered. They will provide a place for two people to relax and unwind, with a a wood burning stove, full bathroom and the best views of the vineyard and the Severn Valley imaginable.
There’s still much to do – landscaping, furnishing and equipping the huts, as well as adding information and booking capability to our website. But the day is getting closer when we can welcome our first overnight visitors to Astley Vineyard to enjoy the beautiful views and tranquility that we love so much.
We are most grateful to the support from Malvern Hills District Council in granting planning permission and facilitating funding. The purchase of these shepherd huts was part funded by the UK Government through the Rural England Prosperity Fund in partnership with Malvern Hills District Council.
